Director of Software Engineering

About the role

Inception42, a G42 company, is seeking a Director of Software Engineering to lead multidisciplinary teams that build and operate production AI products and platforms. You will set technical direction, ensure reliability, security and scalability, and bridge product delivery with applied R&D.

Key responsibilities

• Define engineering direction and execution priorities aligned with product, technology and business goals.
• Lead and mentor engineering managers and senior technical leaders across multidisciplinary teams.
• Drive planning and delivery of complex initiatives, balancing scope, time, cost and quality.
• Guide architecture and technical decisions for software platforms, data infrastructure, ML pipelines and model deployment.
• Establish standards for data management, MLOps, testing, release quality, observability and operational readiness.

Required profile

• Proven track record leading diverse engineering teams through large‑scale delivery.
• Experience shipping and operating production software, data or machine‑learning systems at meaningful scale.
• Strong systems thinking with judgment across reliability, security, performance, cost and speed.
• Excellent communication skills to align technical teams and explain decisions to senior stakeholders.
