Director Special Projects & Performance - MENA

About the role

Talabat, part of the Delivery Hero Group, is hiring a Director, Special Projects & Performance for the MENA region. This is a senior regional leadership role within the CIO office, covering all eight talabat markets across food and quick commerce. The role drives business performance, owns cross-market strategic initiatives and acts as a key thought partner to the CIO and market Managing Directors. It leads a team of around five people and combines strategic weight with hands-on execution.

Key responsibilities

• Regional performance and P&L management: oversee business performance across markets, track trends and anomalies, and hold markets accountable to financial targets
• Budgeting and forecasting: partner with market MDs and finance teams on annual budgets, forecasts and Best Estimate cycles, and prepare data-driven performance reviews for ExCo
• CIO partnership: act as the CIO's right hand, synthesize situations into recommendations, prepare the CIO for ExCo reviews and regional check-ins, and represent the CIO in cross-functional discussions
• Turnaround and special projects: travel regularly to markets, diagnose root causes of underperformance, co-develop recovery plans and lead end-to-end strategic and special projects
• Innovation and AI: identify innovation opportunities, test and scale new tools, and lead AI adoption across performance functions
• Team leadership: build and lead a lean team, develop members into independent contributors and foster a culture of ownership and continuous improvement

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in high-growth tech, market leadership or chief of staff roles, strategy, management consulting or investment banking
• Willingness and ability to travel regularly across the MENA region and work hands-on on the frontline
• Proven ability to operate at ExCo level and manage senior stakeholders across multiple markets
• Experience leading turnaround projects or cross-functional strategic initiatives end to end
• Comfortable with ambiguity and able to structure and move quickly
