Disputes (Investigations) Senior Associate

About the role

A&O Shearman's disputes practice in the Middle East advises states, public bodies and financial and corporate clients on complex, often cross-border disputes, with a specialism in infrastructure and construction disputes, commercial arbitration, offshore court litigation, investigations and advisory matters. The firm is described as trial-ready and trial-tested. It is looking for a qualified lawyer with 5+ years of post-qualification experience to join its Disputes team in Dubai on a full-time permanent basis, focusing on investigations work.

Required profile

• Common Law qualified lawyer with 5+ years of post-qualification experience
• Senior-level experience running internal, compliance or regulatory investigations
• Sound experience of operating at associate level within a complex international organisation
• Strong commercial and business acumen, with the ability to deliver creative and pragmatic solutions and advice

Required skills

• High level of drafting and analytical skills
• Excellent client relationship skills and excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to interface at all levels and win the respect of partners and fee earners
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and to work in a fast-paced, intellectually rigorous environment
