Draftsman – Municipal Infrastructure & Transportation Projects

About the role

The Draftsman prepares, updates, and maintains technical drawings, plans, and engineering documentation to support municipal infrastructure, transportation, road, and public works projects. The role works closely with engineers and technical teams to ensure accurate and compliant drawings.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare technical drawings, plans, sections, profiles, and detailed illustrations using AutoCAD and other drafting software.
• Convert sketches, field measurements, and engineering data into accurate technical drawings for roads, utilities, landscaping, and public facilities.
• Update existing drawings to reflect design changes, maintain revision control, and archive final drawing packages.
• Support engineers by gathering technical information, participating in design reviews, and incorporating approved modifications.
• Conduct site visits when required to collect measurements and produce as‑built drawings.
• Ensure all drawings comply with municipal regulations, engineering standards, and project specifications.

Required profile

• Diploma in Drafting, Civil Engineering Technology, Architectural Drafting, Engineering Technology, or related field.
• 2‑5 years of drafting experience, preferably in municipal infrastructure, transportation, roads, or public works.
• Familiarity with engineering drawing standards and construction documentation.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Basic knowledge of Civil 3D, Revit, or BIM tools.
• Understanding of engineering drawings, scales, dimensions, and technical specifications.
• Knowledge of drafting standards and document control practices.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
