Dredge Master – Lead Marine Dredging Operations

About the role

The Dredge Master will lead dredging, reclamation and civil marine projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget and to the highest safety and environmental standards. The role balances NMDC's business priorities with customer demands while overseeing day‑to‑day dredging operations.

Key responsibilities

• Operate dredger and booster equipment safely and efficiently according to HSE requirements.
• Achieve maximum daily production within the operational capabilities of the equipment and project targets.
• Provide daily planning input to the Chief Engineer and report performance, accidents, delays and asset status to the Senior Dredge Master.
• Implement and control HSE requirements, respond to Q/HSE reports and ensure corrective actions are taken.
• Delegate tasks to dredge mates, assess their performance and suggest efficiency improvements.
• Identify risks, propose mitigations and coordinate with the HSE department on incident investigations.
• Maintain spare‑parts inventory for the deck site and communicate requirements to the Senior Dredge Master.
• Serve as first point of contact for the operational crew and chief engineer when the Senior Dredge Master is unavailable.

Required profile

• Vocational dredging degree or equivalent professional qualification.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, including significant project performance analysis.
• First‑aid certification.
• Navigation licence (STCW 95) is an asset.
• Experience in marine and catering environments is advantageous.
