Dry Bulk Chartering Manager

About the role

We are partnering with an established UAE‑based physical commodity trading business to launch a new freight brokerage and chartering division. The Dry Bulk Chartering Manager will lead the development of this business, reporting directly to senior management and shaping its growth strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Originate cargo and vessel opportunities through an established network of shipowners, operators, charterers and cargo interests.
• Negotiate and conclude profitable Voyage, Time and Period Charter fixtures independently.
• Develop third‑party chartering and freight brokerage business while supporting existing commodity trading activities.
• Manage freight negotiations, voyage economics, charter party terms and post‑fixture commercial execution.
• Build long‑term commercial relationships and generate sustainable chartering revenue.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in dry bulk chartering, shipbroking or commercial freight trading.
• Proven track record of personally concluding fixtures and originating business.
• Established network of shipowners, operators, charterers and cargo interests.
• Experience with dry bulk vessel segments such as Handy, Supramax, Ultramax, Panamax or Capesize.
• Exposure to cargoes like coal, clinker, cement, petcoke, grain or other bulk commodities.
• Strong commercial understanding of freight markets, voyage calculations and charter party negotiations.
