Dry Utilities Inspector

About the role

Parsons is seeking a Dry Utilities Inspector to support utility engineering activities on a road‑construction project in Abu Dhabi. The role involves on‑site inspection, coordination and documentation of electrical, civil and related infrastructure works to ensure compliance with contract specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Utility Engineer in inspecting streetlight, electrical, telecommunication, asphalt road works and associated furniture such as storm‑water systems, guide signs, barriers and guard rails.
• Maintain a detailed daily diary of activities, issues, approvals, labor and equipment usage.
• Review and act on Work Inspection Requests (WIR) submitted by contractors in a timely manner.
• Monitor work quality, safety, health and environmental compliance on a daily basis.
• Prepare surveillance reports, Site Observation Reports (SOR) or Non‑Conformance Reports (NCR) for any deficiencies.
• Provide technical input to resolve discipline‑related issues and ensure proper documentation before and after inspections.
• Ensure project quality‑control procedures are applied and communicate progress regularly.
• Coordinate activities to achieve successful project hand‑over.

Required profile

• Experience in inspecting and monitoring electrical, civil and road‑construction utilities.
• Ability to read and interpret approved shop drawings and project specifications.
• Strong record‑keeping skills and attention to detail.
• Capability to assess safety, health and environmental aspects on site.
• Proficiency in preparing technical reports and non‑conformance documentation.
• Effective communication skills for coordinating with engineers, contractors and project teams.
