Drydock Engineer – Marine Division

About the role

The Drydock Engineer will report to the Drydock Manager within the Marine Division of the Technical Department. This role is responsible for overseeing vessel drydocking, maintenance, and repair projects to ensure they are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and supervise all technical activities related to vessel drydocking, including work lists, schedules, technical specifications and documentation.
• Supervise drydock operations, ensuring compliance with technical, safety, environmental and regulatory standards (IMO, classification societies, etc.).
• Act as the technical liaison between dockmaster, shipyard teams, contractors and clients to resolve issues and ensure successful project delivery.
• Conduct inspections of vessel machinery, hull and systems, preparing reports with repair or maintenance recommendations.
• Monitor resource allocation, quality control and progress across all phases of the drydock project.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture or a related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in drydocking, ship repair or marine engineering, preferably in shipyards or offshore projects.
• Strong understanding of classification, regulatory and industry standards such as IMO, DNV, ABS, ASTM.

Required skills

• Proficiency with AutoCAD.
• Advanced use of MS Office applications.
• Knowledge of FEM (Finite Element Method) software is an advantage.
