Duty Engineer – Hotel Operations

About the role

As a Duty Engineer you will ensure the hotel’s mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems operate safely and efficiently, delivering a seamless experience for guests. You will be the first point of contact for engineering service calls and play a key role in maintaining the property’s high standards.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance and operation of all mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) systems.
• Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance to guarantee safety and efficiency.
• Respond promptly to engineering service calls, minimizing guest disruption.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment in line with health and safety regulations.
• Support training initiatives and foster a positive team culture.
• Assist with engineering budget management and cost‑effective operations.
• Test fire prevention systems regularly and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Supervise daily maintenance tasks and contractor work, ensuring quality and contract adherence.
• Participate in recruitment, scheduling and manpower planning.
