Economic Model Specialist – Refinery Optimization

About the role

ADNOC Group is seeking a Specialist in Economic Modeling to develop, maintain and apply fit‑for‑purpose economic models that support refinery production optimisation and margin improvement. The role will work closely with the SCMD team, refinery operations and commercial functions to provide accurate economic evaluations of feedstock, products and process constraints.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and update linear programming and economic models to reflect current plant operating conditions, pricing data and business constraints.
• Perform daily, weekly and monthly margin reporting, retro‑analysis of plan vs. actual performance and identify opportunities for margin improvement.
• Conduct economic evaluations for crude, condensate and other feedstock purchases, as well as product and intermediate sales.
• Support scenario analysis for planned or unplanned shutdowns, process limitations and profit improvement plans.
• Prepare documentation, presentations and auditable records for commercial decisions and senior management reviews.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Business, Economics or a related field; additional business qualification is a plus.
• Minimum 8 years of experience building and interpreting economic models in oil, gas or petrochemical environments.
• Strong knowledge of refinery operations, material balances and LP model constraints.
• Excellent communication skills in English; Arabic is preferred.
