Editorial Traineeship in TV News & Business Journalism

About the role

This six‑month Editorial Traineeship offers hands‑on experience with CNBC’s editorial and newsroom teams in Abu Dhabi. You will work alongside producers, reporters and editors to support daily broadcast programming while building core journalism and storytelling skills.

Key responsibilities

• Assist show production teams in preparing daily news segments and live broadcasts.
• Write scripts, headlines and show elements for TV.
• Research stories, markets, companies and interview guests.
• Transcribe interviews and extract key soundbites for TV and digital use.
• Prepare production assets such as video clips, graphics requests and lower‑thirds.
• Collaborate with video editors to create packages and short‑form digital content.
• Support guest coordination, pre‑interview preparation and field shoots.
• Clip and package highlights for CNBC’s digital and social platforms.

Required profile

• UAE national, graduated from or in the final year of an Abu Dhabi University.
• Willingness to travel to London and Singapore for two weeks each during the traineeship.
• Recent graduate or final‑year student in journalism, media, business, economics or a related field.
• Strong interest in business news, financial markets and global current affairs.
• Excellent writing and communication skills.
