Electrical Design Engineer – Commercial & Institutional Segment

About the role

The Electrical Design Engineer develops standard reference designs for the Commercial & Institutional Buildings segment, integrating Low Voltage, Medium Voltage, UPS, Energy Storage, and Life Safety systems into comprehensive Eaton solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Work with segment strategy leaders to map target sub‑segments (healthcare, education, retail, mixed‑use) and deliver reference designs and sales tools.
• Create and maintain a library of reference designs aligned with the product roadmap.
• Collaborate with Business Unit product managers and application engineers to position offerings and define optimal technical solutions.
• Translate designs into detailed visual tools (design guides, CAD files, specifications) with the Marcom team for sales promotion.
• Support development of consultant programs, webinars, and community of practice to enable consultants and designers.
• Continuously improve the reference design framework based on feedback from sales, marketing, and consultants.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Power, IT or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the Commercial & Institutional Buildings market in a technical role with customer interaction.
• Strong knowledge of energy/power distribution products, IEC codes and applicable standards.

Required skills

• Proficiency in electrical design software.
• Experience with 3D modeling software (plus).
• Good knowledge of MS Office and CRM applications.
• Familiarity with SCADA systems.
