Electrical Draughtsman – Infrastructure Projects

About the role

The role involves preparing, updating and coordinating electrical shop and as‑built drawings for a range of infrastructure works, including street lighting, roadway power, ELV/ICT ducting and utility interfaces, in line with project requirements and local authority standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and update electrical shop drawings and as‑built drawings for infrastructure works such as street lighting, roadway power, ELV/ICT ducting, junction boxes, feeder pillars and earthing systems.
• Produce layout, single‑line, schematic, load‑schedule and voltage‑drop calculations for MV, LV and street‑lighting networks in line with TAQA Distribution standards.
• Generate section detail drawings for protection, equipment layouts for substations and LV rooms, and installation details for foundations and equipment.
• Maintain drawing revisions, document control and quantity take‑offs for electrical infrastructure items.
• Coordinate with civil and mechanical drafting teams to resolve design clashes and support utility coordination.

Required profile

• Diploma or ITI in Engineering Drafting or a related field.
• 3‑5 years of experience in electrical drafting for infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of MV/LV network design, utility corridors, cable sizing, street‑lighting design manuals and local authority standards.
• Attention to detail, good organisational skills and ability to interpret engineering specifications.
