Electrical Engineer III – 6‑Month Contract (Abu Dhabi)

About the role

Enerflex Ltd. is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer III on a six‑month contract to deliver high‑quality engineering solutions for oil & gas, refinery and power plant projects in Abu Dhabi. The role focuses on timely, on‑budget delivery of design, calculations and documentation that meet international and client standards.

Key responsibilities

• Review and finalize project scope, deliverables and engineering philosophy.
• Prepare and approve detailed designs, specifications, datasheets, load lists, calculations, system studies, single‑line diagrams, schematics and cable schedules.
• Coordinate with clients, project managers and multidisciplinary teams (process, mechanical, instrumentation, civil, structural, piping).
• Respond to technical queries, tender clarifications and manage technical deviations.
• Conduct vendor document reviews and ensure interface compliance across disciplines.
• Participate in SAFOP/design reviews and perform site visits for verification of existing and new facilities.
• Adhere to Enerflex HR, quality, HSE policies and all relevant company procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or related technical field).
• Minimum 8 years of experience in electrical engineering for oil & gas, refinery, power or desalination plants.
• Proven ability to lead design, power system studies and project execution while maintaining quality standards.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and interpersonal skills.

Required skills

• Power system study using ETAP or EDSA software.
• Engineering calculations, cable sizing, generator sizing, substation equipment sizing.
• Pre‑commissioning, testing and commissioning of electrical equipment (on‑shore/off‑shore).
• Familiarity with IEEE, IEC, DEP, API‑505, API‑540, NFPA and BS codes.
