Electrical Engineer – MEP Design (Lighting, Small Power & ELV)

About the role

The MEP Electrical Engineer will be responsible for designing lighting, small power and ELV systems for residential, commercial and industrial projects in Dubai. You will work closely with project teams to ensure designs meet local codes, energy‑efficiency goals and client requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Develop detailed design plans, specifications and schematics for electrical lighting, small power and ELV systems.
• Perform system calculations, select cable sizes, lighting fixtures and ELV devices.
• Prepare and maintain drawings, riser diagrams, cable and equipment schedules, and technical reports.
• Collaborate with architects, project managers and other engineers to integrate electrical systems with overall building services.
• Incorporate energy‑efficient technologies and ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes.
• Provide technical support during construction, respond to RFIs and conduct quality checks on design deliverables.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as an Electrical Design Engineer on MEP projects.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MEP design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit).
• Strong ability to perform electrical design calculations.
• Knowledge of local building codes, standards and regulations for lighting, small power and ELV systems.
