Electrical Engineer – Transmission Line (Competent Person)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to act as the Competent Person (CP) for transmission line projects in the UAE. The role involves overseeing safe and compliant execution of all transmission line activities, from construction to testing, while ensuring alignment with engineering, HSE, quality, and client standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and monitor transmission line construction, installation, erection, and testing.
• Conduct site inspections, identify hazards, and enforce safety controls.
• Review and verify work permits, risk assessments, method statements, and job safety requirements.
• Coordinate with construction, engineering, QA/QC, HSE, and client teams to resolve technical issues.
• Monitor lifting, excavation, tower erection, stringing, and conductor installation activities.
• Provide toolbox talks and technical guidance to site personnel.
• Report incidents, near‑misses, and non‑conformities and support corrective actions.
• Maintain inspection records, checklists, permits, and CP documentation.

Required profile

• BE/BTech/Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience on transmission line projects.
• Valid ADNOC or TAQA approval as a Competent Person (CP) – mandatory.
• Strong knowledge of transmission line construction and site activities.
• Good understanding of HSE requirements, work permits, risk assessments, and safe working practices.
• Preferable experience on UAE/GCC projects.
• Effective communication and coordination skills with contractors, consultants, and client representatives.
