Electrical Engineer – Transmission Line Projects

About the role

Riyadh Cables Group is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support the design, analysis, and delivery of high‑voltage transmission line projects across the UAE. The role combines office‑based engineering work with field activities, ensuring technical excellence from concept through commissioning.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review detailed electrical designs for transmission lines, including conductor sizing, insulator selection, tower configuration, and grounding systems.
• Perform load‑flow, short‑circuit and stability studies using power system analysis tools.
• Conduct technical evaluations of equipment such as transformers, circuit breakers and line protection devices.
• Support site surveys, route selection and feasibility studies, and monitor installation quality and safety.
• Assist in testing and commissioning activities, including insulation resistance, earth resistance and line energisation.
• Prepare technical reports, drawings, material submittals and method statements, and coordinate with clients, consultants and regulatory authorities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (master’s degree is a plus).
• 3–5 years of experience on transmission line projects (132 kV or higher preferred).
• Familiarity with substation interface design and local grid codes.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills, with ability to work both in office and field environments.
