Electrical & Instrumentation Inspector (E&I)

About the role

Bureau Veritas is hiring a permanent Electrical & Instrumentation Inspector in Abu Dhabi. The role covers quality control of electrical power distribution, switchgear, instrumentation and control systems on oil and gas and petrochemical projects, from construction through testing and commissioning.

Key responsibilities

• Attend all inspections with client and EPC contractor representatives on 33 kV, 11 kV, 3.3 kV and 415 V AC power distribution, instrument installations, switchgear, control gear, cathodic protection, HVAC, UPS and associated systems.
• Prepare and review method statements and ITPs with QA/QC engineers and project engineers.
• Prepare QA/QC reports on inspections, materials and non-conformances, verify corrective actions and check site drawings and documents for approval status.
• Function test control valves, SDVs and ESDVs and ensure equipment and special tools are calibrated with valid certificates.
• Attend FAT and SAT of HV and LV electrical equipment and quality control electrical materials received at site.
• Produce concise weekly and monthly inspection reports.

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation or Control Engineering.
• At least 10 years' experience as an inspector in oil and gas and petrochemical industries on new builds and brownfield modifications.
• Experience interpreting EPC and vendor design documentation for DCS instrumentation and control systems, including ESD, fire and gas and control room systems.
• Proven liaison with EPC contractors, manufacturers and clients during FAT and SAT.
• Good knowledge of ISO and other international standards and fluency in English.
