Electrical & Instrumentation Inspector

About the role

The Inspector – E&I will be responsible for overseeing electrical and instrumentation works on new and brownfield projects in the oil & gas and petrochemical sectors. The role involves ensuring compliance with design documentation, standards and client requirements throughout construction, testing and commissioning.

Key responsibilities

• Attend inspections with client and EPC representatives for 33 kV, 11 kV, 3.3 kV and 415 V power distribution, instrumentation, switchgear, control gear, cathodic protection, HVAC, UPS and related systems.
• Prepare and review method statements and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) in coordination with QA/QC and project engineers.
• Produce QA/QC reports on inspections, material conformity and non‑conformances, and verify corrective actions.
• Check drawings and documents for approval status and project compliance.
• Perform functional tests of control valves, safety‑shutdown (SDV) and emergency‑shutdown (ESDV) devices.
• Ensure all equipment and special tools are calibrated and have valid certificates.
• Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) for high‑voltage and low‑voltage electrical equipment.
• Control quality of electrical materials received on site and prepare concise weekly and monthly inspection reports.

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation or Control Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years experience as an inspector in oil & gas or petrochemical projects, covering new construction and brownfield modifications of power distribution systems.
• Proven ability to interpret EPC contractor and vendor design documents for instrumentation and control systems, including DCS, ESD, fire‑and‑gas and boiler instrumentation.
• Experience liaising with EPC contractors, manufacturers and client representatives during FAT and SAT.
• Good knowledge of ISO and other international standards.
• Fluent in English.
