Electrical & Instrumentation Inspector

About the role

The Electrical & Instrumentation Inspector will lead inspections of power distribution, control and instrumentation systems for oil & gas and petrochemical projects in Abu Dhabi. The role involves close coordination with EPC contractors, vendors and client representatives to ensure compliance with design documentation, standards and quality requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Attend and conduct inspections of 33 kV, 11 kV, 3.3 kV and 415 V AC power distribution, switchgear, control gear, cathodic protection, HVAC, UPS and related systems.
• Prepare and review method statements and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) in collaboration with QA/QC and project engineers.
• Generate QA/QC reports, track non‑conformances and verify corrective actions.
• Perform functional testing of control valves, safety‑shutdown devices and verify calibration of special tools.
• Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) for high‑voltage and low‑voltage equipment.

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation or Control Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years experience in oil & gas or petrochemical construction, including new builds and brownfield modifications.
• Proven ability to interpret EPC and vendor design documents and to liaise with contractors and manufacturers.
• Fluent in English with strong knowledge of ISO and other international standards.
