Electrical Maintenance Engineer (High Voltage)

About the role

A facility management organisation is looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer with strong high voltage experience in operations and maintenance. The role ensures the safe, reliable and efficient operation of electrical systems while leading teams and maintaining the highest HSEQ standards.

Key responsibilities

• Operate, maintain and troubleshoot high voltage electrical systems
• Plan and carry out preventive and corrective maintenance to minimise downtime
• Monitor system performance and improve efficiency and energy use
• Lead and supervise technicians and contractors, and coordinate with FM teams, clients and stakeholders on schedules, shutdowns and projects
• Provide technical guidance, training and performance feedback
• Prepare technical reports, maintenance records and incident investigations
• Manage emergency response and resolve electrical faults quickly
• Ensure compliance with HSEQ policies, conduct risk assessments, toolbox talks and safety audits, and enforce permit-to-work and lockout/tagout procedures
• Report incidents and near misses and promote a strong safety culture

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
• Proven experience in high voltage systems such as substations, transformers and switchgear
• At least 7 years of O&M experience in facility management
• Experience in team leadership or supervisory roles
• Valid driver's licence

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of HSEQ standards and electrical safety regulations
• Troubleshooting and fault diagnosis in HV systems
• Good communication and coordination skills
• Familiarity with CAFM systems is an advantage
