Electrical & Mechanical Engineering Operations Traineeship

About the role

Amazon Web Services is offering a six‑month Electrical & Mechanical Engineering Operations Traineeship in Dubai for UAE nationals. The programme provides hands‑on experience in data‑center infrastructure and prepares participants for a full‑time Engineering Operations Technician position.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the operation, monitoring and maintenance of electrical and mechanical systems in AWS data centres.
• Perform routine inspections and troubleshooting of diesel generators, UPS, switchgear, pumps, cooling towers, air‑handling units and chillers.
• Support root‑cause analysis investigations and corrective actions.
• Participate in on‑call rotations, shift work and weekend duties as required.
• Follow safety, security and environmental procedures at all times.

Required profile

• UAE national holding a family book.
• Full‑time availability for a 6‑month programme (40 h/week).
• Interest in data‑centre engineering and willingness to work in shifts.
• Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical concepts; no prior professional experience required.
