Electrical Technician - Hotel

About the role

Avani, a brand of Minor Hotels, is looking for a detail-oriented and organized electrical technician to join its team at the Avani Ibn Battuta Dubai Hotel in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The role covers installing, maintaining and repairing electrical systems and equipment while complying with safety standards and local electrical codes.

Key responsibilities

• Install, inspect and maintain electrical wiring, equipment and systems according to technical specifications and safety regulations
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical faults using multimeters, circuit testers and other testing equipment
• Perform preventive maintenance to minimise downtime and keep systems running optimally
• Analyse circuit diagrams, blueprints and technical documentation to understand system needs and spot potential issues
• Repair or replace faulty components, wiring and equipment
• Carry out electrical testing and inspections to verify functionality and compliance with safety standards
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance, repairs and equipment performance
• Coordinate work schedules with team members and supervisors and follow workplace safety protocols and PPE

Required profile

• 2-5 years of hands-on experience in electrical maintenance, installation or repair
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics and blueprints
• Competence with hand tools and power tools
• Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance and equipment care; commitment to safety and health regulations
• Valid electrical certification or license preferred, depending on UAE requirements

Required skills

• Proficiency with electrical testing and diagnostic equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, circuit testers)
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, circuits and wiring practices
• Familiarity with electrical codes and safety standards applicable in the UAE
