Electrical Technician – Hotel Maintenance

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented and organized Electrical Technician to join our team at Avani Ibn Battuta Dubai Hotel. The role involves installing, maintaining and repairing electrical systems while ensuring compliance with safety standards and UAE electrical codes.

Key responsibilities

• Install, inspect and maintain electrical wiring, equipment and systems according to technical specifications and safety regulations.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical malfunctions using testing equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes and circuit testers.
• Perform preventive maintenance to minimise downtime and ensure optimal performance of electrical systems.
• Analyse circuit diagrams, blueprints and technical documentation to understand system requirements and identify potential issues.
• Repair or replace faulty electrical components, wiring and equipment with precision and efficiency.
• Conduct electrical testing and inspections to verify system functionality and compliance with safety standards.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs and equipment performance.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to coordinate work schedules and ensure project completion.
• Adhere to all workplace safety protocols and use appropriate personal protective equipment at all times.
• Stay current with electrical codes, industry standards and best practices relevant to the UAE market.

Required profile

• 2‑5 years of hands‑on experience in electrical maintenance, installation or repair work.
• Proficiency in using electrical testing and diagnostic equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes and circuit testers.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, circuits and wiring practices.
• Familiarity with UAE electrical codes and safety standards.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics and blueprints.
• Competency with hand tools and power tools commonly used in electrical work.
• Excellent organisational and time‑management skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment.
• Valid electrical certification or licence (preferred, depending on UAE requirements).
