Electroneurodiagnostic Technologist

About the role

The Electroneurodiagnostic Technologist performs routine and complex neurodiagnostic examinations, including EEG, EMG, intra‑operative monitoring, epilepsy monitoring, and evoked potentials. Work is carried out in the laboratory, at the bedside, in intensive care units, and in the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit.

Key responsibilities

• Apply electrodes to predetermined positions, calibrate equipment, and record EEG, EMG, and evoked potential studies.
• Conduct nerve conduction studies, calculate conduction velocities, and document abnormal clinical findings.
• Maintain and troubleshoot neurodiagnostic equipment, perform minor repairs, and ensure clean, well‑stocked work areas.
• Schedule special procedure tests, obtain recordings for carotid endarterectomy, and assist with intra‑operative monitoring.
• Keep accurate patient logs, support billing processes, and contribute to the development of new procedures.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of relevant hospital experience in EEG/EMG, evoked potentials, or polysomnography.
• Associate degree or higher in Neurophysiology, Biophysics/Physiology, or a related applied science.
• Current national license and registration with the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic Technologists or equivalent.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English; Arabic is preferred.
