About the role
Stripe is looking for an experienced legal counsel to lead its regulatory work in the United Arab Emirates and support future expansion across the region. Based in the UAE office, you will work closely with product, compliance, policy and risk teams to navigate the complex landscape of payments and fintech regulation.
Key responsibilities
- Advise internal stakeholders on UAE regulatory requirements affecting Stripe’s products and operations.
- Partner with product, legal and compliance teams to embed regulatory considerations into product development and market expansion.
- Develop policies, procedures and compliance programs that meet local financial regulations.
- Monitor regulatory developments and provide proactive guidance on trends, risks and opportunities.
- Engage with regulators and policymakers on behalf of Stripe, shaping advocacy and regulatory strategy.
- Identify and evaluate business and legal risks, proposing creative mitigation solutions.
Required profile
- Qualified lawyer with significant experience in payments, fintech or financial services regulation.
- Demonstrated ability to act as a trusted advisor to cross‑functional teams.
- Strong analytical skills and a proactive approach to regulatory change.
- Excellent communication skills in English; Arabic is a plus.
