Engineer I - Projects

About the role

Petrofac is looking for an Engineer I – Projects to be based in Sharjah, UAE. The role supports the delivery of energy‑industry projects by managing contract scope, coordinating with engineering and procurement teams, and maintaining client and supplier relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Review contracts for scope, obligations, schedules and potential concerns; prepare kick‑off meeting agendas.
• Finalize and submit deliverable lists to the client after cross‑discipline discussion.
• Coordinate with engineering to issue material requisitions, technical bid evaluations, purchase requisitions, drawings, procedures and calculations, monitoring progress weekly.
• Interface with procurement to track status and take corrective actions as needed.
• Organise weekly client review meetings to report progress and forecast upcoming work.
• Manage vendor kick‑off meetings, monitor vendor deliverables, resolve operational issues and track delay recovery.
• Maintain professional relationships with suppliers, conduct performance appraisals and resolve technical deviations.
• Address site queries related to material receipt, non‑conformance reports and drawing issues by collaborating with engineering, procurement and expediting teams.

Required profile

• Strong ability to analyse contracts and identify action plans.
• Experience coordinating engineering, procurement and vendor activities.
• Effective communication skills for client and supplier interaction.
• Proactive problem‑solving attitude to resolve site and supplier issues.
