Engineer II SIL – Power Electronic Design Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Engineer II to join our power electronics team in Abu Dhabi. The role focuses on the design, simulation and testing of power conversion devices for automotive and industrial applications.

Key responsibilities

• Design, simulate and validate DC‑DC, DC‑AC converters, SMPS, inverters and motor drives.
• Create schematics and PCB layouts using Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro, Mentor Graphics or KiCAD.
• Develop hardware across the full product lifecycle, from concept through manufacturing, testing and validation.
• Apply EMI/EMC best practices and ensure compliance with automotive and industrial standards.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to translate customer requirements into clear technical specifications and support system integration.

Required profile

• Hands‑on, practical mindset with strong troubleshooting abilities.
• Experience in systematic failure‑mode analysis of electronic hardware.
• Understanding of thermal management, reliability and component selection for high‑performance systems.
• Familiarity with system‑level design and a structured engineering approach.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, multicultural environment and contribute to prototyping activities.

Required skills

• Power conversion device design (DC‑DC, DC‑AC, SMPS, inverter, motor drives).
• Electrical/electronic CAD tools: Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro, Mentor Graphics, KiCAD.
• Electronic hardware development lifecycle in automotive contexts.
• EMI/EMC design practices and compliance.
• Firmware development and reverse engineering of electronic hardware.
• Knowledge of IPC standards (IPC‑2220, IPC‑A‑600, IPC‑6012B, IPC‑A‑610) or equivalent MIL‑STD.
• System‑level design and troubleshooting of failure modes.
