Engineer – Maintenance and Quality Assurance

About the role

Emirates Flight Catering is looking for an Engineer to ensure the safe and efficient operation of its equipment and facilities in Dubai. The role focuses on maintaining high safety and quality standards while supporting the maintenance team.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure adherence to safety legislation and operational safety for employees, equipment and assets.
• Maintain compliance with ISO 9001:2001 quality systems and company policies.
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and diagnose faults.
• Troubleshoot machine issues when junior staff cannot resolve them.
• Monitor and manage preventative maintenance programmes.
• Provide necessary tools, equipment and spare parts for job requirements.
• Plan stock requirements to minimise equipment downtime.
• Supervise junior engineering and technical staff.
• Participate in departmental briefings and communicate effectively within the team.
• Track workforce needs, adjust duty rosters and manage budgets.
• Maintain statistical, legal and financial records as required.
• Monitor equipment performance to ensure optimum output.
• Act as a role model, promoting a positive attitude and strong communication.
• Propose and implement improvements to work procedures.

Required profile

• Engineering degree (Electrical, Mechanical or Industrial) from a recognised institution.
• Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in catering, facilities or project‑management environments.
• Strong knowledge of engineering legislation, ISO quality standards and safety systems.
• Proven experience in managing and developing a team.
