Engineer - Operational Quality & Risk Management

About the role

Sanad Aerotech is hiring an Engineer for Operational Safety, Quality & Risk Management within its Aviation & Aero Engine MRO operations in Abu Dhabi. The role reports to the Manager of Operational Safety, Quality & Risk Management and covers risk assessments, the risk register, event investigations and independent surveillance to keep operational approvals valid.

Key responsibilities

• Manage SMS operational tasks: review, develop and maintain safety procedures aligned with aviation regulations and industry best practice.
• Support communication with regulators and customers on SMS implementation and investigation outcomes.
• Contribute to LEAN and Six Sigma projects to improve safety, quality and efficiency.
• Assist in identifying, assessing and monitoring risks, and maintain and update the risk register.
• Take part in risk-related meetings, workshops and validation sessions.
• Support investigations of safety and quality events, including containment, root causes and corrective/preventive actions, with follow-up.
• Gather evidence through shop-floor observations and stakeholder engagement, and contribute to investigation reports and lessons learned.
• Perform risk-based surveillance monitoring and provide recommendations for improvement.
• Undertake additional duties assigned by the Manager.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Aviation Management, Quality and Safety or a related field, or an ICAO type II Aircraft Maintenance license.
• 5 to 8 years of experience in quality and safety management in aviation or MRO, preferably in engine shops with an emphasis on human factors.
• Proven experience managing findings in an MRO and applying quality management systems to drive process improvements.
• 10 years of relevant experience may substitute for the degree.

Required skills

• Knowledge of aviation regulations (GCAA, EASA, FAA, CAAC, UKCAA) and of SMS and QMS.
• Investigation techniques, root cause analysis and risk management.
• LEAN and Six Sigma, and tools such as 5 Whys and fishbone analysis.
• Data analysis and reporting with Microsoft 365 tools (Excel, Power BI, SharePoint).
• Human factors and behavioral safety knowledge, strong communication and analytical thinking.
