English Teacher

About the role

An English teacher with strong teaching skills is sought. The teacher should know current technology well, communicate clearly orally and in writing, and understand how to use varied teaching methods to reach all learning styles. The position is open to immediate joiners.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a positive, organized and safe learning environment.
• Plan and prepare meaningful, engaging lessons.
• Manage student behaviour effectively.
• Demonstrate knowledge of the subject content.
• Apply effective assessments, analyse test results and plan improvements.
• Use strategies that develop critical thinking.
• Adapt instruction for students with special needs.
• Use technology and teaching resources to meet all students' learning needs.
• Collaborate with colleagues and keep accurate records.
• Promote student growth and wellbeing, with awareness of child protection laws.
• Keep certifications and professional development credentials up to date as required by ADEK.
• Model professional and ethical conduct with students, peers and parents.
• Carry out other duties assigned by the school leadership team.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in English literature, an educational diploma and/or a certified teaching licence.
• At least 2 to 3 years of teaching experience in an American curriculum school.
• Native speaker, preferably with UAE experience and complete, attested documents.
• Able to join immediately upon selection.
• Valid Equivalency Certificate and a valid IELTS certificate.
• Academic degrees attested by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA).
