English Teacher – Secondary School (Start Jan 2027)

About the role

The Arbor School is seeking a highly motivated English Teacher to join its secondary school department starting in January 2027. The successful candidate will teach English Literature and Language across KS3, KS4 and KS5, covering GCSE/iGCSE and A Level/IB programmes, and will help shape a curriculum that reflects the school’s ecological and multicultural ethos.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging lessons in English Language and Literature to students of all abilities across KS3‑5.
• Develop and diversify the curriculum, incorporating texts and authors that align with the school’s sustainability focus.
• Collaborate with the English department to moderate assessments and embed a coherent curriculum map.
• Contribute to the wider school community by supporting the ecological and sustainability vision.

Required profile

• Native‑level English proficiency.
• Bachelor’s degree in English or a related field, plus a PGCE with QTS or equivalent.
• Minimum three years of teaching experience in the UK or a reputable British school overseas.
• Proven record of outstanding GCSE and/or A Level results and the ability to create a caring classroom environment.
