Environmental Engineer – Risk & Reliability

About the role

SEGULA Technologies is looking for an Environmental Engineer to support Environmental & Social risk management, sustainability, LEED, and GHG management services across the Middle East, primarily in the UAE, Oman, and KSA. The role is office‑based in Abu Dhabi with occasional site visits.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare commercial and technical proposals under line‑manager direction.
• Write Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) for projects in the UAE and KSA, integrating specialist inputs such as terrestrial ecology and soil‑groundwater assessments.
• Develop Environmental Management Plans (CEMP, OEMP) and support delivery of EIA, SIA, BAT, GHG, and other environmental reports.
• Interpret baseline survey reports and technical modelling outputs for inclusion in EIA documentation.
• Conduct Health, Safety, Environmental Impact Assessments (HSEIA) and estimate man‑days for proposals.
• Attend client meetings, issue data request forms, review documents, and perform required site visits.

Required profile

• Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or related discipline.
• 4–6 years of experience for mid‑level or 8–12 years for senior level, preferably in oil & gas or petrochemical sectors.
• Strong understanding of HSE risk engineering and management.
• Excellent written and verbal English with strong technical report writing skills.

Required skills

• SoundPlan (noise modelling)
• AERMOD (air dispersion modelling)
• Hydrodynamic modelling tools such as OilMap or MIKE‑2
• Knowledge of ISO 14001, ISO 14064, ISO 26000 and GRI standards
• Familiarity with ADNOC, ARAMCO, QE, PDO, KOC standards
