Equipment Operator

About the role

The Equipment Operator supports airport ground handling operations by safely operating and maintaining ground support equipment (GSE). Working under the Apron Supervisor, the role ensures efficient ramp activities while complying with all safety, regulatory and airline requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Report to the assigned supervisor at the start of each shift and perform allocated duties.
• Conduct pre‑operational inspections, complete checklists, report defects and ensure only serviceable equipment is used.
• Operate authorized GSE/GSV after completing required training and competency assessments.
• Record equipment assignment timings accurately for billing purposes.
• Maintain equipment cleanliness, perform routine FOD inspections and wing‑walking duties when required.
• Communicate and coordinate with supervisors and ground handling teams to ensure safe and efficient ramp operations.
• Support quality, health, safety, security and environmental (QHSSE) requirements and participate in incident investigations.
• Adhere to airside driving rules, aircraft safety clearances and airport safety procedures.

Required profile

• Good standard of education.
• Fluent in English (spoken and written); Arabic is an advantage.
• Valid UAE driving licence.
• Ability to follow SOPs, safety regulations and airport rules.
