Estimation Engineer - Asphalt Roads

About the role

Al Marwan Group, founded in 1978 and active across construction, heavy machinery, oil and gas, real estate, development and hospitality in the GCC, is looking for a detail-oriented Estimation Engineer in Sharjah. The role covers tendering and cost estimation for road construction projects, with a strong focus on asphalt production, material costing and project pricing.

Key responsibilities

• Review project drawings, BOQs, technical specifications and scope of work.
• Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimates for asphalt and road works.
• Calculate material, labour, fuel, equipment and asphalt production costs.
• Obtain, review and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations.
• Calculate asphalt plant production costs per tonne and per square metre, and estimate transportation, plant operations and machinery utilization costs.
• Prepare cost analyses, pricing breakdowns and project profitability projections; monitor market rates and update cost databases.
• Coordinate with Operations, Procurement, Finance and QA/QC teams.
• Prepare commercial quotations, pricing schedules and tender submissions, and maintain estimation records and tender documentation.
• Track tender outcomes and assist project teams with cost planning, variations and additional work assessments.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• 3+ years of experience in asphalt estimation and road construction projects.
• UAE experience in road and infrastructure projects preferred.
• Strong understanding of asphalt production, batching plants and paving operations.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, BOQs and technical specifications.
• Good communication and coordination skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Excel and cost estimation tools.
• Strong analytical, numerical and commercial awareness.
