Estimation Engineer - E&I/MEP (Modular Buildings)

About the role

Redfish Solutions is looking for an Estimation Engineer in Ras Al Khaimah to review RFQ requirements for the E&I/MEP scope of modular buildings such as E-houses and equipment rooms, prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates and develop techno-commercial proposals. The role coordinates closely with clients, internal stakeholders and suppliers during tendering, supports project budgeting, variation estimates and handover, and prepares basic layout drawings and preliminary execution plans for bids.

Key responsibilities

• Review RFQ documents and specifications, RFI sheets and prepare scope summaries and technical queries
• Take part in clarification meetings with the customer
• Prepare and finalise cost estimates following company policy, procedures, standards and rates
• Prepare E&I/MEP quantity and material take-offs from single line diagrams, layouts, cable schedules and I/O lists
• Estimate systems such as LV/MV switchgear, transformers, UPS and batteries, lighting, earthing, fire and gas detection, HVAC and pressurisation
• Build installation, testing and commissioning costs using company manhour norms and productivity rates
• Define assumptions, exclusions and qualifications, and set contingencies for technical and commercial risks
• Prepare proposal documents, handover documents and variation order estimates for ongoing projects
• Prepare budgetary and rental proposals, prequalification documents and the project execution plan and preliminary schedule
• Draft general arrangement drawings in AutoCAD for bids and issue RFQs to suppliers

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Instrumentation or Industrial Engineering
• At least 8 years of experience in E&I/MEP estimation and proposal development, preferably in prefabricated and modular projects
• Knowledge of building codes, regulations and international design standards
• Excellent written English for technical queries and proposals
• Experience with E-houses, LERs, substations or blast-resistant modules is an advantage
