Executive Clinical Director, Pharmacy

About the role

The Executive Clinical Director, Pharmacy provides high‑level leadership, strategic direction and advocacy for pharmacy services at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi. Reporting to the Chief Medical Officer, the role develops and executes the overall pharmacy strategy, overseeing both inpatient and outpatient operations. Relocation to Abu Dhabi is required.

Key responsibilities

• Lead development, implementation and evaluation of the annual strategic plan for pharmacy services.
• Ensure compliance with operational standards, regulations and accreditation requirements.
• Drive digital and artificial‑intelligence initiatives to innovate pharmacy care.
• Oversee all operational aspects of inpatient and outpatient pharmacies, including patient and provider access functions.
• Manage pharmaceutical care delivery, medication dispensing, purchasing, inventory and budgeting.
• Coordinate staffing, recruitment, retention and performance development for pharmacy teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy (required); PharmD preferred; Master’s degree in a related clinical, healthcare, management or administration field (required).
• Current national pharmacy license.
• Minimum 15 years of progressive leadership experience in pharmacy, including at least 10 years as a hospital pharmacist and 3 years in a senior role within a tertiary acute‑care hospital.
• Proven experience managing large budgets and leading change initiatives in a large healthcare setting.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
• Experience applying digital and artificial‑intelligence tools to support innovative pharmacy services.
