Executive Director – Energy Options Trader

About the role

The Commodity Trading Desk at First Abu Dhabi Bank seeks a senior Energy Options Trader to lead and expand its options activity, focusing on crude oil, refined products and natural gas. You will own the portfolio’s options and volatility risk framework while driving new revenue streams.

Key responsibilities

• Price, execute, market‑make and risk‑manage options across crude oil, refined products and natural gas.
• Maintain the desk’s risk limits, monitor global commodity book risks and report daily positions.
• Collaborate with sales to develop trading and hedging ideas and create tailored solutions for clients.
• Work with other FAB centers to capture flow and pricing for new local customers.
• Enhance FAB’s market perception as the leading institution for commodity hedging.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years of experience in options trading, especially oil, gas or carbon derivatives.
• University degree with solid understanding of options and volatility trading.
• Proven track record of managing commodity risk and generating revenue.
• Strong relationship‑building skills and ability to identify new business opportunities.

Required skills

• Python or similar programming language for quantitative analysis.
• Deep knowledge of commodity markets, trading platforms and systems.
