About the role

Standard Chartered is hiring a Senior Industry Banker (Energy & Natural Resources) to support the implementation of its Energy & Natural Resources coverage in the Middle East and to provide industry expertise for client transactions. The banker focuses on strategic deals in corporate finance, financial and capital markets, works closely with Relationship Managers and Product Partners, and positions the bank as a first point of contact for M&A advisory, LBO advisory, private equity placements and acquisition financing.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver new mandates to meet the Industry Coverage annual budgets and ensure they are executed to the highest standards
• Lead client engagements, including deal economics, engagement letters and term sheet negotiations
• Initiate and develop new client relationships and maintain existing ones
• Ensure regulatory compliance and effective governance, including cooperation with local regulators
• Identify, escalate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters

Required profile

• Degree or postgraduate qualification from a top-tier school
• Prior experience in the energy and natural resources industry or a top-tier investment bank
• Track record in structured debt, project finance, M&A, capital markets, financial markets and structured trade transactions
• Strong understanding of the regulatory and compliance framework

Required skills

• Solid financial analysis, deal negotiation and structuring
• Client interaction, prospecting, account planning and relationship management
• Corporate finance and valuation
