Experienced Senior Consultant – Internal Audit, Natural Resources & Energy

About the role

BDO UAE is seeking a highly motivated Internal Auditor with at least two years of post‑qualification experience to support internal audit and internal control over financial reporting assignments within the Natural Resources & Energy sector.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and perform risk‑based internal audits across finance, operations, compliance, IT and other business functions.
• Assist in ICOFR assessments, testing controls for SOX, IFRS and related regulatory frameworks.
• Identify, assess and evaluate risks and controls, providing recommendations for mitigation.
• Prepare clear audit reports and present findings to senior management and stakeholders.
• Support process improvement initiatives and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.

Required profile

• Chartered Accountant, ACCA, CFA or CPA qualification (mandatory).
• Minimum 3 years of post‑qualification experience in internal audit and ICOFR, preferably in Oil & Gas, Energy, Metals & Mining or Manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of COSO, SOX, IFRS and related regulatory frameworks.

Required skills

• Proficiency with audit tools and data‑analytics software.
• Advanced use of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP (advantage).
