Expert Team Lead, SWE

About the role

This hands‑on leadership position is based in the United Arab Emirates and focuses on building and maintaining high‑quality human‑generated data for advanced AI model development. You will lead a team of AI Tutors while staying directly involved in reviewing, evaluating, and improving technical work.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end quality and delivery for human data projects, personally reviewing work to ensure accuracy, consistency and guideline adherence.
• Lead, coach and performance‑manage a team of AI Tutors, conducting reviews, creating improvement plans and supporting professional development.
• Participate in labeling, annotation, evaluation and review activities to demonstrate best practices.
• Establish and enforce QA processes, taxonomy standards, workflow guidelines and evaluation criteria.
• Monitor operational KPIs (quality scores, throughput, send‑back rates) and use data to identify bottlenecks and improve efficiency.
• Develop training materials, certification benchmarks and manage certification processes.
• Partner with data managers, other team leads and engineering stakeholders to translate model requirements into labeling strategies.

Required profile

• At least 1 year of hands‑on experience in data labeling, annotation, AI training or evaluation.
• Professional experience building or contributing to scalable technology applications, preferably in software engineering.
• Understanding of data quality metrics, annotation workflows and QA practices.
• Experience managing or coaching small teams in technical operations.
• Strong analytical abilities, KPI‑driven improvement mindset and basic SQL knowledge.
• Excellent communication, organizational skills and attention to detail.
