Facilities Director

About the role

Green Initiative is seeking a Facilities Director to lead the hospital’s facilities department. Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, you will oversee civil, mechanical, electrical and biomedical engineering services, ensuring compliance with SEHA, JCIA and statutory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the Facilities Department to deliver effective maintenance for the hospital building and physical plant.
• Develop and implement efficient work methods, including a Planned Preventive Maintenance System.
• Establish and monitor safety and quality assurance standards.
• Ensure adherence to Maintenance Services policies and advise on revisions.
• Supervise department performance and maintain high service levels.
• Prepare operating and capital budgets aligned with current and future facility needs.
• Maintain life‑safety practices to minimize risk to patients, staff and the public.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline (required).
• 8‑10 years of relevant experience, with at least 5 years in a hospital or healthcare setting.
• 3‑5 years of management experience.
• Knowledge of Environmental Health and Safety, Joint Commission (JCIA) and OSHA regulations.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
• Master's degree or Certified Healthcare Engineer (CHE) desirable.
