Facilities Engineer – Civil Works & Maintenance

About the role

The Facilities Engineer will direct, coordinate and supervise civil and building maintenance, structural alterations and modifications across the refinery’s infrastructure. The role includes preparing feasibility studies, cost estimates and managing contracts for repair and upgrade projects while ensuring safety and minimal disruption to plant operations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead contractor teams to perform civil works maintenance, inspections, modifications and construction, ensuring timely and safe execution.
• Manage troubleshooting and technical support for EPCL civil infrastructure, prioritising work according to agreed targets.
• Conduct civil infrastructure studies, design modifications and oversee preventive maintenance programmes.
• Supervise repairs of steel/concrete structures, piping supports, fireproofing, storm and oily‑water sewers, valve pits, pump bases and HVAC systems.
• Oversee fire‑fighting system maintenance, certification and annual third‑party inspections to maintain operational fitness.
• Coordinate sourcing of materials, external services and contracts in partnership with Procurement & Contracts.
• Plan daily activities using Oracle CMMS, maintain work order records and develop the yearly maintenance budget.
• Ensure compliance with refinery procedures, safety regulations and information security policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in civil or mechanical engineering from a recognized university.
• 4–5 years of experience in civil works, facilities maintenance or industrial installations, including contractor supervision.
• Knowledge of international civil works codes and strong analytical/diagnostic abilities.
• Proven ability to estimate resource requirements, plan and schedule maintenance activities.
• Familiarity with safe working procedures and ability to train and guide personnel.
• Computer literate with experience using Oracle CMMS or similar maintenance management systems.
