Facilities & Services Officer

About the role

The Facilities & Services Officer is responsible for delivering and overseeing all facilities and general services within the school, ensuring a high‑standard, safe and efficient environment for staff and students.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver a service culture and manage staff and resources to maintain school facilities to the highest standards of cleanliness, maintenance and safety.
• Oversee accommodation for staff in line with Aldar Education housing policy and allowances.
• Manage purchasing, contracting and budget compliance for facilities, ensuring cost‑effective procurement.
• Coordinate repairs, maintenance and external service providers, ensuring works are completed satisfactorily and health & safety standards are met.
• Supervise security, cleaning, catering, transport, waste disposal and other central services, acting as the point of contact for external providers.
• Lead the facilities team, ensuring professional development, performance appraisals and a high‑performance culture.
• Act as the designated Incident Commander, available outside normal hours for critical incident response.

Required profile

• Minimum diploma or degree in a relevant field; graduate‑level qualification or certificate in Facilities Management, NEBOSH or IOSH preferred.
• At least 3 years of experience in a mid‑level facilities or services role within an educational or similar environment.
• Strong English communication skills, both written and oral.
• Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, procurement processes and compliance with health & safety regulations.
