Faculty – Applied Media (Design & Media Production)

About the role

The Higher Colleges of Technology is seeking a full‑time faculty member for the Applied Media division, focusing on Design and Media Production. The role combines teaching, research, and service to support the college’s strategic objectives and community engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver applied, practice‑oriented courses using current educational technologies and ensure effective learning in a second‑language environment.
• Develop and maintain course materials, assessments, and electronic course files in line with accreditation standards.
• Provide academic advising, mentorship for internships, and support for at‑risk students.
• Conduct applied research aligned with national innovation priorities and represent the faculty at conferences.
• Participate in faculty, program and system‑wide committees, and contribute to community and industry outreach.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in a relevant discipline, or a Master’s degree with professional certification and at least five years of combined teaching and industry experience; a Bachelor’s degree with extensive industry experience may also be considered.
• Minimum three years of teaching experience in the relevant field and three years of relevant industry experience, with a record of curriculum development and use of educational technology.
