Field Operator – Steel Industry (Abu Dhabi)

About the role

The Field Operator will work on‑site at a large gas‑based DRI plant in Abu Dhabi, executing field operations and supporting safe, efficient plant performance. Reporting to the control room and senior operators, you will ensure equipment is correctly positioned, monitored, and handed over for maintenance.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and monitor field equipment in coordination with the control room.
• Set equipment and valve positions as required for process operations.
• Isolate and hand over equipment safely for maintenance activities.
• Monitor plant parameters, identify abnormalities and report deviations to senior staff.
• Maintain field log sheets and operational records.
• Support plant startup, shutdown, and emergency handling procedures.
• Maintain housekeeping standards and follow plant safety and MSDS procedures.
• Act as Senior Field Operator when assigned.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Engineering or Science.
• Minimum 5 years experience in large gas‑based DRI, petrochemical or fertilizer plants.
• Preferred experience in HYL DRI plant operations.
• Good analytical, communication and computer literacy skills.
• Fluent English.
