Field Service Engineer – Centrifugal Compressor

About the role

Baker Hughes is seeking a Mechanical Field Service Engineer to join its Industrial and Energy Technology team in Abu Dhabi. You will be responsible for delivering high‑quality on‑site service for Baker Hughes‑supplied centrifugal compressors, ensuring reliable operation for our customers in the energy sector.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical advice and support to clients and field crews during installation, maintenance and inspection of centrifugal compressors.
• Unload, inspect and position compressors and auxiliary equipment on foundations, verifying geometric dimensions, levelling and alignment.
• Perform routine and major maintenance on Nuovo Pignone compressor models (MCL, BCL, PCL, SRL) at customer sites.
• Conduct detailed inspections of bearings, couplings, seals (gas, oil, labyrinth, honeycomb, diaphragms) and volutes, evaluating wear and clearance.
• Document work performed and communicate findings to customers and internal teams.

Required profile

• BE/BTech in Mechanical Engineering with at least 5 years of relevant experience, or a 3‑year Technical Diploma with at least 8 years of experience.
• Hands‑on experience with rotating equipment, specifically vertical or horizontal centrifugal compressors, in field environments.
• Strong customer focus, communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
