Field Service Engineer - EOSS Commissioning

About the role

Prysmian is hiring a Field Service Engineer for its EOSS business, based in Qatar or the United Arab Emirates with priority responsibility for projects and clients across the Middle East. The role involves frequent travel to client sites and is open to worldwide travel, including offshore assignments. It reports to the EOSS Commissioning Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with site health and safety standards during installation and commissioning.
• Review construction plans, OTDR traces and system diagnostics to support project execution.
• Configure and calibrate DTS, DAS, PD and shield-current monitoring systems, integrate them with the EOSS monitoring platform and support SCADA integration.
• Create and implement RTTR and DOB models, including signal-input mapping.
• Perform onsite commissioning and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), then train end users and service partners.
• Carry out post-commissioning tasks such as RTTR fine-tuning, DOB model implementation, DAS Smart Alarm setup and system validation.
• Draft commissioning reports, follow-up documentation and intervention summaries, and maintain records of configurations and troubleshooting actions.
• Act as technical point of contact in client meetings, validate system performance and provide training and support to client teams.
• Comply with EOSS HSQE, information security, gender equality and authority matrix policies.

Required profile

• Master's degree in industrial engineering (electrical, mechanical or related).
• At least five years of professional experience on Middle East projects, preferably in field service, installation, commissioning or technical client support.
• Fluency in English; Arabic is highly advantageous, French or Italian is an asset.
• Excellent communication skills, proactive problem-solving and troubleshooting ability.
• Cultural sensitivity, strong relationship management and understanding of regional logistics and regulations in the GCC.
