Finance Manager – Investment Holdings

About the role

We're hiring a Finance Manager for an investment company managing a diversified portfolio across direct investments, private equity, venture capital, and other holdings. The role sits close to senior leadership and requires strong technical grounding, sound judgment, and absolute discretion.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate books and records for investment holding entities, applying IFRS consistently, including consolidation, equity method, and joint arrangements.
• Track capital calls, distributions, and unfunded commitments, reconciling fund‑reported NAV and capital account statements.
• Oversee valuation of unlisted private investments in line with IFRS 13 and IPEV guidelines.
• Prepare quarterly and annual portfolio‑level reporting packages covering NAV, performance, capital status, and material developments.
• Act as primary contact with external fund managers, co‑investors, and administrators for reporting and cash‑flow processing.
• Ensure compliance with UAE corporate tax, VAT, and regulatory requirements for investment structures.
• Liaise with external tax advisors, auditors, and legal counsel on structuring, compliance, and reporting matters.
• Support and formalise the investment governance framework, including policy documentation and related‑party transaction oversight.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; professional qualification (CFA, CPA, ACCA, CA or equivalent) required.
• 8–12 years of post‑qualification experience with exposure to private equity, venture capital or investment holding company accounting.
• UAE experience preferred, including familiarity with UAE VAT, corporate tax and DIFC/ADGM regulations.
• Demonstrated financial modelling and valuation capability (DCF, comparable company, precedent transaction, LBO‑style modelling).

Required skills

• IFRS 10 (investment entity exception), IFRS 11, IFRS 13, IFRS 9, IAS 28, IAS 24.
• Advanced Excel and portfolio‑management/fund‑administration systems (eFront, Addepar, Allvue).
• Private‑markets performance metrics: IRR, MOIC, TVPI, DPI and fund‑waterfall mechanics.
• Financial modelling techniques: DCF, comparable company, precedent transaction, LBO‑style modelling.
