Financial Analyst – Project Finance (AMEA)

About the role

ENGIE Middle East is seeking a Financial Analyst for its AMEA region to lead valuation and risk analysis of new power projects, support financing plans and mentor junior staff.

Key responsibilities

• Lead valuation and risk analysis of new development projects, preparing detailed financial models.
• Prepare and review financing plans, select funding sources, and support execution of project financings.
• Monitor liquidity, market trends and competitor financing approaches across regional and international banks.
• Conduct annual impairment tests, look‑backs and other AIFA‑related analyses.
• Supervise, train and coach junior analysts on modelling and technical aspects.
• Contribute to internal procedure monitoring and propose enhancements to modelling methods.
• Support preparation of medium‑term plans, budgets and macro‑economic assumptions in collaboration with Finance.

Required profile

• Finance or Economics degree or professional qualification (CFA, CIMA, ACA, ACCA).
• Minimum 6‑8 years of experience, including at least 2 years in project finance/AIFA and complex financial modelling.
• Proven analytical and commercial acumen with strong understanding of accounting and tax structures.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet fixed deadlines and communicate findings clearly.
• Leadership qualities and experience in coaching junior team members.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency, including use of macros.
• Expertise in building and reviewing complex financial models.
• Strong knowledge of financial valuation methodologies.
• Proficient use of PowerPoint for presenting analysis.
